I have set up a MailChimp easy form for a category. Clicked on Edit Category. There you can simply click on where you want the form added (title or description). I click on Title. Hit update. All there is on the title is the random text [yikes-mailchimp form=”1″] and no form. I have waited the allotted 1 hr and still nothing. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi @earnedmedia,

I’m confused as to what you mean by a category. You’re trying to use the easy forms shortcode – [yikes-mailchimp form="1"] – as a title, correct? The title of a category?

Have you tried using the shortcode as the description (the content area) instead?

    Let me know,
    Kevin.

    Hello @earnedmedia,

By default, WordPress does not allow shortcodes in category descriptions.

I did find this plugin that allows you to use shortcodes in category descriptions and other text areas where shortcodes are not permitted by default:
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/enable-shortcodes-inside-widgetscomments-and-experts/

    Thank you!

We have “categories” set up. When you click on EDIT category there is a MailChimp Easy Icon that appears. We click on it, It asks to put in Category Title or Description or both. We have tried every configuration and every time its the same. Just shows the code and thats it.

    Hi @earnedmedia,

We add our Easy Forms icon to all of the “editors.” However, not all of the editors have the capability to handle shortcodes. WordPress categories cannot handle any shortcode (not just Easy Forms shortcodes).

If you’d like to use an Easy Forms MailChimp form in your category, you can try using the plugin that Tracy linked to above (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/enable-shortcodes-inside-widgetscomments-and-experts/). This is not supported behavior but we will try to make it work for you if you experience any trouble.

    All the best,
    Kevin.
