I have a sidebar link to a category, which looks like this: http://myblog.com/?cat=2. When I click it, I get a page not found error. Needless to say, I have a category matching that ID. So what’s the prob?

is that the correct link you just gave us?

Unless you have a post in the category, then nothing will show in that category.
try test posting in the category and then see what happens.

I’m getting a weird display when I click on your “working” links.

hello-world & uncategorised posts shows partial 404 page in the header section and partial page of navigation and nice pic top left corner. Is this right?
