Category name not displaying correctly

    I’ve been using wordpress for many years and this is one of the oddest problems i’ve seen.

    I’m using delightful downloads which registers its own categories. I made a category called “English,” the slug of which is “english” but on the site both the name and the slug show up as “Engtrsh”.

    There is no other term “english” anywhere on the site that could be messing with it. I rechecked the category. I renamed and saved the category, then renamed and saved it back, nothing changes.

    I did a search on the database the term “engtrsh” doesn’t show up anywhere.

    I’m completely stumped. All of the other categories show up correctly.
    Any ideas?

    First, identify exactly which plugin you are using and then post in that plugin’s dedicated forum via its page in the Plugin Repository.

    mea culpa

    found the problem, it was my own independent function that was causing it.
