    Start by checking out Category_Templates. In your template, remove most of the elements in The_Loop, just leaving the title stuff.

    Hello, thanks for the reply. That was very helpful.

    The only problem with that is I want 1 post to display on the home page, but up to 20 to display on the category page. How can I change that?

    First option that comes to mind: There used to be a Custom Query String plugin that you might try and turn up — it would do that nicely.
