Do you have more posts which can be load?
If there where all posts loaded which can be load with your current filter settings the button will be hide.
More about the load more feature you can read in our documentation:
The number how many posts will be loaded each time the load more button is clicked is like the same how many posts are shown set in the Filter panel with the option “Number of posts to shown”.
The button was present four days ago and I have lots of other posts in the same categorys. I have set one of the widget to 15 showed post (the others 10) and this take effect on the page immediately. The button “Load more” is still missing.
I tend to think that there is a general error in the new update of the widget or I have reached a maximum of posts in one category (if there is any).
Please help.
Can you set in the Filter panel the option “Number of posts to shown” to “2” for a test?
It works with 2 and up to 9 (funny) but not 10 and above.
But only once. I have one category with apox 30 posts. This will only load 18 posts when setting the filter to 9. Yes, when setting the button to 2 I can load up till 10 posts then the button disappears. 10 is the magic limit.

There is an issue about to show maximum 10 posts.
Can you try that patch version and override the code with a FTP client at your web server or delete the old widget and upload that ZIP with your admin pages: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ygjch11ue6till/category-posts.zip?dl=0
