I think that might be the case. For example:
- Product “ABC” has the parameter “Step” = 0.1
- Product “DEF” does not have the “Step” parameter
- Category “Cat1” has parameter “Step” = 0.2
- Category “Cat2” has parameter “Step” = 0.3
- Category “Cat3” does not have parameter “Step”
- Global “Step” = 1
Processing:
Product “ABC” – OK.
Product “DEF”:
– If included only in Category “Cat3”, then “Step” = 1 (Global)
– If included only in Category “Cat1”, then “Step” = 0.2 (Cat1)
– If included in Category “Cat1” & Category “Cat2”, then “Step” = Undefined! Contradiction of choice.
In this case, the “Step” parameter will be selected as the First of all the Categories that the “DEF” Product belongs to.
Thanks for your fast reply. I understand what you are saying, however I’m afraid that doesn’t seem to be the case here. Both levels of category use the same Step value.
In this instance, both the top-level category (Hydraulic Hose) and sub-category (2SN) have the same settings for Step. The Step value for the individual product has been left empty.
So my set-up is as follows:
Cat 1: Hydraulic Hose (Step = 0.1)
Cat 2: Hydraulic Hose > 2SN (Step = 0.1)
Product SKU: 032TV (Step = empty)
Global Step = 1
However, for products in the 1SN category, this is all working fine. The only difference is for the 1SN products, the Step is set at product level, not category level.
Hope that helps! Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi kurtw92 again.
Let’s do 3 experiments:
1:
Make a new Test Product. “STEP” = Empty
Category only “Hydraulic Hose” (STEP = 0.1)
What happened? What is the meaning of “STEP”?
2:
Test Product. “STEP” = Empty
Category only “Hydraulic Hose > 2SN” (STEP = 0.1)
Update Product. Just click “Update”.
What happened? What is the meaning of “STEP”?
3:
Test Product. “STEP” = Empty
Category “Hydraulic Hose” & “Hydraulic Hose > 2SN”
Update Product. Just click “Update”.
What happened? What is the meaning of “STEP”?
Sure, the results of the test are:
1. Product STEP = Empty
Category only “Hydraulic Hose” (STEP = 0.1)
Result: Step is going up by 1 (e.g. 1, 2, 3, etc)
2. Product STEP = Empty
Category only “Hydraulic Hose > 2SN” (STEP = 0.1)
Result: Step is going up by 1 (e.g. 1, 2, 3, etc)
3. Product STEP = Empty
Category “Hydraulic Hose” & “Hydraulic Hose > 2SN”
Result: Step is going up by 1 (e.g. 1, 2, 3, etc)
In summary, all three tests gave the same results. No matter what is set at Global level or category level, it seems that the Step only changes for the product when set at product level (Not at category level).
Happy to hear any thoughts you might have!

Very interesting!
I can’t repeat your problem. But I’m trying to do it.
Test Product (Admin Page) -> Tab “General” -> “Quentity Options”:
What do you see in the fields:
“Minimum”?
“Default set”?
“STEP CHANGE +/-“?
“Maximum”?
“Price unit-label”?
“Disable Price Unit-Label”?
* If there are no values, then there is PlaceHolder.
Also:
Products (Admin Page) -> Decimal Quantity:
Min Quantity: ?
Max Quantity: ?
Step change Quantity: ?
Default set Quantity: ?
Also:
“Hydraulic Hose” Category Settings (Admin Page):
Price Unit-Label: ?
Min Quantity: ?
Max Quantity: ?
Step change Quantity: ?
Default set Quantity: ?
