    I’ve found this:
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/exclude-category-from-sitemap-2/
    and this works for me.

I also need exclude for websites where I only help in the background… is it planned to realise an input field for cat-id also in the backend?

So far I like to use the plugin “XML-Sitemap” – there you can exclude categories by mouse click and post/pages by ID separated by comma in an input field. This would also be perfect for your SEO… maybe a suggestion for the future?

    THX

    Hello!

This feature isn’t planned, for I can’t phantom a good reason why one would use it.

The sitemap is an index meant for consumption by search engines. We make it pretty with a stylesheet, but it’s not a place for visitors to dowse pages. If you don’t wish to have a post found there by a search engine, you’d most likely also not have it indexed, and so you should apply “noindex” to it.

Adding every feature one can think of adds a ton of complexity, and I’ve been implored to set aside my time to support the new Block Editor. So far, I believe TSF is the only WordPress SEO plugin that doesn’t get a bug report every other day (we get one about every three months). Luckily, for those ept with code, we have filters in place 🙂

If you have other ideas, please drop them at GitHub: https://tsf.fyi/support/request-feature, there we can organize requests easily. Here at WordPress, they get lost 😢.
