Category Variable Not Working. Please Help!

Hi,

I’m currently using the latest WordPress and WordPress SEO. I am running a theme called “Compare” by Awesem Themes and am having trouble using the %%category%% variable in the meta description to call to a Product’s (post) category.

The theme has custom categories and posts for products, so I’m assuming this is why I’m having issues. I want to standardize the Product Post’s meta description with one that calls to it’s corresponding Product Category (or sub-category) and none of the variables will work. I’ve contacted the theme developer, who said to use %%product_category%% but no luck. Yoast won’t respond to this via email either (I’ve tried %%term-title%% and all of the other custom variables suggested in the plugin).

Does anyone have a work around for this so that I don’t have to manually enter the meta information for every product post on my website? Any information would be GREATLY appreciated!!
