CF Modal causing Javascript errors

Having problems inserting the Caldera Modal script as explained here:
https://calderaforms.com/doc/opening-caldera-forms-modals-using-javascript/

When I use that script, I see an error in Console like this:
Uncaught TypeError: jQuery(…).remodal is not a function\

Specifically, this line of code:
var inst = jQuery('[data-remodal-id=modal-CF5b425517a3263]').remodal();

Any idea why I’d be receiving that error?
