Change default sort order on Admin side?

    Hey Stephen,

    This may be a feature request, not a support question so forgive me if this is not the right place to post. No urgency, either!

    The sites I use SUS on have many, many signup sheets after years of using SUS. When we go into the Admin “view all sheets” list, it seems they are sorted by default by Title, alphabetically, descending, which makes finding the current/active or upcoming sheets hard – especially with events that happen frequently that have similar titles.

    Is there a setting to make SUS show up sorted by creation date (or First Date) by default – the way Posts do? I have to train everyone when they hit that page to just click the First Date header to re-sort, which is fine, but it’s one of those little annoyances, insignificant, but still an annoyance.

    If this is not a thing that can be configurable, wouldn’t it make sense to make the default to sort by recent sheets instead of by title? Or are we just weird? 🙂 🙂

    Yes, this is a feature request and you already posted it a couple days ago on the feature requests forum of my site.

    I have noted it and will see what I can do the next time I work on an update for this plugin. Note that there are far too many feature requests, and I make no promises of including them all, as the plugin already has so many features as to confuse many new users with all the settings, and I don’t want to make a bloated plugin by trying to include every feature.

    This one should be relatively easy, though, so I’ll most likely include it in the next update, even though an additional click on the column you want to sort by doesn’t seem like a major issue to me.

    Thanks for the response! Though…. it wasn’t me that posted that as a feature request… I just went and checked and apparently someone else (I don’t know him) feels the same way I do 🙂 🙂

    Thoughts on making the most recent (as in ID, I suppose makes the most sense) the default as opposed to title? Still offer the choice to change but I still feel like for what the plugin is used for – the majority would choose recent first not alphabetical.

    Most definitely this is not a major deal, it’s just one of those things that after wishing it in my head all these years I thought I’d mention that bugs me. A very TINY thing, all in all I love your plugins and can’t live without them!

    No problem. I will look into that. I thought perhaps you were the same person since it was just 2 or 3 days ago that was posted on my feature request forum, which I didn’t think could be a coincidence, but I guess it was. =)
