Change input text color

Hi There,

I’ve been trying to change the color of the input text on my form, tried with a previous post I found telling to use

.mc4wp-form input {
}
#mc_signup_form .mc_input {
	color: black;
}

in style.css, but no luck, input text remains white on white background, making it impossible for users to see what they are typing..
any ideas?
