Hello, I am using the Responsive Theme and by default when you click the logo it links back to the sites URL. I would like to change this. I located the HTML code in FireBug and can change it in my browser, but I can’t locate that line of code in my WP>APPERANCE>EDIT. This is my first WordPress site and very new……any help would be appreciated.

You cannot change HTML in a php-based website in the same way as a static site. Also, do NOT make any changes to any theme files – as those will be lost when the theme is updated. Instead use a child theme – see: http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Child_Themes

Responsive theme has great support and a free child theme you can download here:

Thanks very much. I appreciate it. After building the site I heard about the Child Theme….lol. Is it to late now the site is done? This is my first website. http://www.torontobusinessadvisors.com

You will need to redo some work, but it would still be a good idea – you really don’t want to lose what you’ve done and avoiding updates will eventually run into compatibility troubles.

Thanks again I really appreciate it. In the child theme can I change the link from my logo to somewhere else, or same thing as the parent site.

Ask the Responsive folks to help you with that – I’m not too familiar with how that theme is coded :).

You’re quite welcome – we try around here :)! I think you’ll find excellent theme support on the Responsive forum too. Or for general issues, you can always post here too.
