change permalink going forward?

    Does anyone know of a way to only change the permalink structure going forward. I tired just changing the structure of the whole site then using 301 redirects in the .httaccess but I began to notice site speed performance issues. Any help would be awesome thank.

    There is no way to do this. The permalink structure affects the whole site and cannot be limited to just part of the site.
