Change permalink to “true” on this statement?

Hello,

I am curious how to change the “permalink” to “true” in this statement:

the_attachment_link($attachment->ID, false);

The ref is this page and says it’s possible, but doesn’t show any examples of how to change the permalink to “true”:

The “false” statement on the code above only refers to showing the thumbnails instead of full images.
