change the category image when hover

    hello
    I want to change the category images when hovering on them
    i have 2 images for each category, black and white version and colored versios, i want to show the colored version when hovering the the other version in normal state.
    how can i do this?

    At the moment there are no default options in that regard and it would require either a 3rd party plugin OR additional custom coding.
