    Hello,
I just installed Ultimate Member. It has changed my link structure and now adds /# after the URL of the homepage for no apparent reason…

Problem is that I am using Anker links like /#demo in the main menu to navigate to some sections on the home page.

This worked like a charm before but now it does only work when you first land on the homepage. But as soon as you navigate to another page, it does not work from there anymore as it dynamically changes the link to this: /#/demo and this page or section does not exist! So I get a 404 message.

I tried all kinds of changes to the links but nothing worked so far… I can still navigate to the homepage, but not to the sections anymore.

    Any help??? THX!

    Hi @thorworx

Have you tried updating the anchor without the / slash and just keep it #.

We haven’t tried this so we are not sure if the above suggestion will work.

Hi CHamp, I guess that is not how Anker links work. By default you just name the section “demo” without the hash. If you do not include a /#demo in the menu item it would try to redirect to /demo which does not exist, same as /#/demo. Anyway its a super weird dynamic rewrite I did not encounter in 15 years of WordPress anywhere!

My current workaround is to create standalone pages for these sections. I found no other working solution 🙁

    Hi @thorworx

If you have found a solution or wish to make changes with UM, you can submit a pull request or request feature in our Github Repository:

HI CHamp, thanks for the offer, but I am not 100% sure if it comes from Ultimate Member anymore. I ramped up security with iThemes Security and Wordfence the same day. It might have something to do with that as well.

The problem stays if I disable any of these 3 Plugins including UM, Wordfence, and iThemes Security) I still get the same error (which might be caused by Cache – I always have problems with that).

Did you ever hear of something like that rewrite before in another context?

    THANKS 🙂

    Hi @thorworx

We haven’t done this so I’m not sure what to suggest. I hope someone in the forum has done something similar and shares their solution here.
