Hello @williamews
Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to help!
Can youj please share for which module you have been using the Redis caching method and have you updated the redis port after the change within the advanced settings of the module the Redis is used for?
Thanks!
@vmarko it’s the “Object Cache.”
W3 Total Cache >> General Settings >> Object Cache >> Advanced >> Redis hostname:port / IP:port:
Changing the port back to default… Website not accessible after changing the port…
Thank you
Hello @williamews
Thank you for the information.
I am still not sure what is the problem and which port you are changing. Does the port you are trying to use in the OC settings with Redis exists at all on Redis server?Does the problem occurs if the port is reverted to default or changed to something else?
Thanks!
@vmarko the cause of the issue is that I made a mistake by prefixing the local host with “https://”. So I have to find a way to remove that somehow, maybe via the database table or if you have another suggestion.
Hello @williamews
Thank you for your feedback.
This should be in the configuration file. In wp-content/w3tc-config/master.php check the line:"objectcache.redis.servers": [
"127.0.0.1:6379"
],The default should be as added above.
Can you please share what is in you config file?
Thanks!@vmarko Thanks for the support. Yes, it was the issue. I removed it before realizing we wanted me to share it with you. Sorry.
It was something that started with “tls/ \..”
Hello @williamews
It seems that you tried to use ssl port. Meaning you added
tls://in front of the redis domainCan you please confirm the issue is resolved?
Thanks!
@vmarko Yes, the issue was resolved. Thank you!
You forgot to finish my other request about the hosting the “cache” folder/directory outside of WP installation. 🙂
Thank you

Thanks!@vmarko sure, will do.
@vmarko Hello. Changing Redis default port “6379” is not passing/working. Any suggestions?
Thank you!
@vmarko Could you please answer my question? Why changing the Default Redis port “6379” to something else is not working? Can the Redis default port be changed in W3 Total Cache or it’s not possible while using W3 Total Cache?
Thank you!
@vmarko I’m wondering why you stopped replying to my inquiries… The site is not able to connect to Redis server. The connection testing is failing. Even changing Redis connection port is not working also. Please check screenshot: https://prnt.sc/L8hEQiDnjMSk
Thank you!
