Changes Twenty Fiftheen Theme

    I have used a very old Theme and now want to change to the Twenty Fifteen Theme. Now I have a few different points to adapt, and therefore I have a few questions:

    1.Is it possible to set ONE background-Image behind the main and the header and the sidebar?

    2.I would like to make some optical changes like
    …showing excerpts
    …creating a footer menu
    Where can I write this changes into the php file, so they are save also for updates?!

    3.Until now I am using jetpack.
    But perhaps this package is to big for me.

    So is it possible to show my Avatar picture for my comments and to inform comment writers got an answer without using jetpack?
