• I’ve got a blog set up in Magazine Basic to enable multiple contributors in the future and have the User Role Editor plugin. Currently I am Admin/Editor.

Most of the time, my contributors send me their posts via e-mail. I just plug them into a blog post and publish them, adding written credit to the true author.

I have a difficult “contributor” (the first to actually get herself into the blog dashboard) who posted while listed as a SUBSCRIBER in the user defined roles. (I don’t know how she managed to do that.) “Contributor” posts go into a pending status for editor review and end up posted under *my* name as author, *not theirs* at publication, which has really chapped this particular person. She thinks I am purposefully taking credit for others work and pointedly says that if I can’t fix it there is something wrong with the blog and she won’t contribute any more pieces.

I bumped her up to “Author”, but she is demanding that *I* fix this problem myself without her resubmitting the same post under her new “Author” role, which I assume will always put her own name there. Her very first post is currently sitting in Pending because my name shows up as author and I don’t know how to change it in these circumstances.

Basically, I want to know if there is any way to switch author names for posts sent by Contributors.

    Thanks.

  • I have a small drop-down at “Quick Edit” in the Page Editor where I can do that, and I think that is part of WordPress and not coming from a plugin.

Well, don’t I feel dense. I *never* noticed that area in quick edit before and that is exactly what I needed. Thanks for getting back to me. Problem solved!

There is a “Resolved” button over here that many people miss >>>>>>>>>>>>

    😉
