Changing Cart Settings doesn’t work
-
The goal is to get the cart to show on the menu only if something is in it. But no amount of switching settings clears it off.

Hi @starhorsepax2,
Please note that WooCommerce stores the dynamic data in SessionStorage in the browser. This is different from regular browser cache, in the sense that it is not cleared when you do a hard refresh.
In short: to see your latest changes, close your browser tab and reopen it 🙂
Session storage should affect a separate browser should it? I tested on more than one. The other one hadn’t been to the site before.
No, this should not affect a separate browser.
Could you please share your site URL to take a look at it and try to understand what’s happening? You can use this service to mask your site URL and delete it after a specific time: temporary-url.com
I’m afraid I arrived late. I think you have set a very short expiration time.
Could you please try again? Please try with 12 hours for the URL expiration.
apparently that isn’t working. the temp url site I mean. I set it to not expire for 2 weeks! and that is a very shady redirect.
Thanks for providing your site URL, @starhorsepax2.
I realized that you’re using GeneratePress which also has a cart menu: This is the menu that you’re seeing, not ours (try here).
When you add an item in your shop, you’ll see our menu cart next to the one from GeneratePress. You can disable the menu cart from your theme under Customize > Layout > WooCommerce.
See: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/woocommerce-overview/
Thank you very much! That did solve the problem.
I’m glad to hear that, @starhorsepax2!
If you don’t mind and have the time, do you think you could leave us a review?
Thanks in advance and all the best with your store!
