• Hi, I am trying to change my email address in general settings (virtue theme). I enter it, it says it is sending a confirmation email, but I never receive the confirmation email, so it doesn’t change. I know my email address works as I get other emails coming to it, but I also cannot receive emails from my contact form (which is a plug in) unless I also use my old email address which forwards to it.
We recently changed our primary domain – and I had the WordPress team at GoDaddy go through and change all my links. Do you think this could be related to the domain change? This seems to be the only place we are having issues.

  • Hey,
The email address in general settings doesn’t have to do with the theme. That is your WordPress core option.

If you are having trouble getting the email to change for the main admin of the site I suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to troubleshoot why your site can’t send that email to you, it’s possible it’s getting blocked on a server level.

The theme contact form will send emails to the address you set in the theme options > misc settings > “Contact Form Email”

Thanks Ben, I have created email addresses through Office 365 exchange server, and those don’t seem to come. Anything that has to do with the WordPress site doesn’t arrive. I realize that this is not a Virtue issue, but do you have any idea why this might be?

If emails from your site do not come through it means you need to set up STMP for your site. A good plugin for this is: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

Your hosting provider can usually help with this also.

    Ben
