I know we have had the occasional request for these ordering and default checked functionality, but it hasn’t necessarily been a large enough demand to put forward thus far.
That said, I am adding this forum thread to some internal documentation so that we can consider it with some heavier weight, as you are showing there may be more demand than we previously had.
As is, the listing is going to be in alphabetical order at the moment, just like you see in the admin, and we have it set to auto-check the first one in the saved list.
Regarding that last part, with being able to uncheck a default, I think we could manage to do something for that in the interim while we evaluate other things. I can’t promise an immediate timeframe for when that would be formally released for everyone, but as I already have in mind how we’d do things, I could provide a temporarily modified copy of the plugin that allows for changing just that one behavior, if that’d be of interest to you.
Thank you so much for the information. Please see what you can do. The top item by alphabet- is the least likely choice and being able to set my own order is very important to me.
I can’t yet promise on timeframe, but I can say with certainty that we have looked over our options and found an integration we can make that will have sorting and most likely some amount of search available. I know I’m definitely testing things out with this today to see how much work would be needed to pull it in.
In short, probably more sooner than later.

Slight delay in some things here, but we have things in hopefully final testing and review to add this functionality into the plugin. Current plan is intended as part of a version 2.6.0 of our Forms plugin.
