You’re very welcome…also sorry for 10 hours late of response. What is happening is that the WP header is actually being used as the background for the banner area, which is why you see it as you do. To way to get a banner or image or slider in this area is to use a widget and publish it to the “Banner” widget position.
Also, to publish it to select pages, you may want to check out a plugin called Dynamic Widgets (a bit of a learning curve), or an easier one, Display Widgets.
When using a text widget for an image or slider, you won’t want the widget title to show, so use a plugin “Remove Widget Title”.
I’m not sure what you mean by that. I think I did it but it does not display the entire image. Can you please explain step by step the process?
Upload an image to your media library. Click to edit and copy the File URL. Go to Appearance >> Widgets >> drag a text widget into the Banner position and do an image tag like this:
<img src=”paste the file url here” alt=”short description” />
I was just having the same issue with the cropped image, even using this bit <img src=”paste the file url here” alt=”short description” /> in the text widget.
The trick that worked for me was to add the Image Widget plugin and use it on the Banner Wide widget.

Hi, I would like to know where the original banner image is, and in which file is the code that calls it.
I like everybody else, have it cropped to 50 px. Is it possible there is a 0 missing? Should be 500 px.
I would prefer to have my own in my library and upload it with the original size, instead of doing the banner width workaround.

There is a problem when changing de image. I downloaded the original image, uploaded it as banner image and it only showed 50 px height,
Cutomising did not crop it, I think this theme has a problem.

The customizing options are incredible!
But, as the new trend is using pictures, and having text written on them it is quite important the theme allows to use banner pictures 500 px (or even allow any height!)
I am re-designing my site would love to use this theme.
I will upload it, but not activate it so I get the new version.
