• Hi, I recently created a free blog using wordpress.com and using them as a free host. Then 6 days ago I purchased the $18.00 thing where my blog would be called
simpleminimalistliving.com. Then yesterday I swapped to bluehost hosting site and managed to transfer my blog BUT I have not managed to change the nameserver pointing so the new blog is not seen by readers. I have contacted bluehost and they said that it appears that the nameserver change hasn’t been done (even though I followed instructions). Then tonight I find out that because my domain (I am not even sure what the domain is but I am guessing it is my .com blog) was registered through wordpress I have to do something different. has anyone done what I am describing successfully and can explain simply for me what I should do to do this namserver thing? Sorry, but I am not technical at all and hardly have any computer vocabulary. I believe it is registered through wildwestdomains.com.
Thank you to anyone who can help.

    Ruth

  • What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Do you have a registered domain at wordpress.com?

‘simpleminimalistliving.com’ seems to be working exactly as it should at BlueHost, so are you trying to point it to wordpress.com nameservers?

Yes it is registered at wordress.com. I have been onto bluehost this morning and the domain nameservers are still pointed at wordpress.com. They told me that it can take up t 72 hours for the migration to happen.
