Hi there, the plugin has some strange behaviour.

When you select Paypal you will see the 2 Paypal buttons correct?

The confusing part is customers don’t click the 2 Paypal buttons but they go straight to the “Checkout” button that is from Woocommerce.

The plugin should disable the Woocommerce button when selected so people know the “yellow” Paypal button needs to be clicked.

Anyway, to do a workaround, I want to change the error message.

Where and in which file has text for:

    1. SOMETHING WENT WRONG. PLEASE TRY AGAIN OR CHOOSE ANOTHER PAYMENT SOURCE.
    2. COULD NOT RETRIEVE ORDER. THIS BROWSER MAY NOT BE SUPPORTED. PLEASE TRY AGAIN WITH A DIFFERENT BROWSER.

Please let me know where I can change these error message that explains better to customers they need to click Paypal buttons.

    Hi @cuboid

Under normal circumstances, when the PayPal gateway is selected during checkout, the PayPal Payments plugin should replace the WooCommerce “Place order” button with the PayPal smart buttons. You can find more about this on our documentation page.

If you are seeing both the “Place order” and the PayPal smart buttons at the same time, it could signal a compatibility issue with your theme or another plugin.

Although altering the error messages you mentioned is possible using translation files (for example, with a plugin like Loco Translate), this doesn’t resolve the root problem. We suggest conducting a conflict test by temporarily activating a standard theme like Storefront, and disabling all plugins except WooCommerce and PayPal Payments. This step will help identify the source of the issue, and consequently, the “Place order” button could be effectively removed.

In order to assist you better, we would appreciate it if you could share a copy of your WooCommerce system report with us. This report will provide us with insights into your site setup and potential compatibility issues. You can share the system report here in the forums or privately from this link. Please include a link to this thread if you choose to send a private message.

    Thank you!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
