Hi Ed,
We use the standard wp_mail function to send out the email notifications. As such, it should indeed work fine with plugins like WP Mail SMTP that allow you to send via an external server. And, if you’re using a plugin like WP Mail SMTP to override the default WordPress settings, you probably don’t even need to change the FROM Email Address option in our plugin.
Hi Jay,
Thanks for confirming. And good to know i probably won’t have to change the FROM Email Address option – although as i already changed it, i’ll keep it.
Cheers, Ed’
Hi Eddie & Jay, we are having a similar issue with this plugin. All of the confirmation emails are going to junk/spam folder. We have our email and permissions set up correctly and are using Easy WP SMTP but are stil experiencing the issues. EVERY single email goes to junk/spam folder within the app. Could you help possibly at all?

Hi l337s73r,
I don’t have any experience with Easy WP SMTP, I’m using WP Mail SMTP by WPForms.
Concerning settings I’d say ask your hosting for the correct ones.
Other troubleshooting is best to ask plugin-authors i guess.
Hope you get it working soon tho’. Cheers, Ed’
Thanks for the suggestion Ed. That’s very good advice, to make sure you have all the server/port/security type (TLS/SSL) set correctly in the SMTP plugin you are using. Unfortunately, I don’t have experience using Easy WP SMTP either, but have also used WP Mail SMTP for this without issue.
Check what from address is showing for the emails that end up in the spam. Even if you are using an SMTP plugin, you could still try adding something to the FROM Email Address Header field in our plugin, to see if it helps.
