Changing Header Color
-
I can no longer change the header color by going to Dashboard-customize-colors-header color-save&publish. The change is shown on the editing page but the “save & publish” is not making the change on the website (catmountainhiking.com). Do I need to reinstall WordPress? Any help will be appreciated.

Are you sure that’s the correct domain name? I get a page saying that the domain name registration expired on 11/21/2014!
Sorry. It use to be .com. The new site is catmountainhiking.org

Okay, great. So did it just stop working out of the blue? Or did something change on the site?
Try clearing your browser cache and any caching on your site – doesn’t look like you have any caching plugins enabled, but if you do, clear those. Then try deactivating your plugins to see if that makes any difference.
I cleared my browser cache and website cache, and deactivated all plugins…still had the problem.
Yes, it did stop working sort of out of the blue. About 2 weeks ago the red menu I had turned white and I could not see the menu on the header picture. I could not change the menu color so I eliminated the header picture so I could see the menu. Then I tried to change the header color to make the website look nice without the picture and I could not permanently change the header color.
Thanks for your help.

So what if you change to a default theme (twentyfourteen)? Does it work then? I know the settings, etc. aren’t going to be exactly the same, but this will help narrow down what may be causing that to happen.
I changed to twentyforteen and the theme allows only 2 items to have the color adjusted. I tried both. The Site Title Color changed perfectly but the Background Color would not change for me.
Tom
I see a blue background on your site – on the right hand side?
Yes, that is correct. I set the background as blue and the right column is blue.
Okay, so it looks like it’s working. So try switching back to your other theme and see if it works now. If not, switch to another theme so you can delete Casper and then reinstall it. Your content won’t be affected.
I switched back to Casper theme and the colors don’t work. Now I’ve switched to twentyfourteen theme. How do I delete the casper theme?
I really appreciate your help.
Tom
I was able to delete the casper theme and then download a new casper and activate it. But, same problem. colors can’t be adjusted.
Tom
I just installed that theme on a test site and same thing – so it’s evidently a theme issue – so you should post on the theme’s own forum here:
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/theme/casper
Looks like there was an update for the theme fairly recently so maybe that created the problem.
It appears that the Casper forum doesn’t get replies. Any ideas how to report the theme problem to get it fixed? If it can’t be fixed, is there a comparison chart anywhere to see what other theme(s) might have the same flexibility as Casper? I like the ability to adjust colors and also have one wide column on at least one page in order to have a wide table (schedule).

The theme pages has this:

As to other themes, you can use the filter function for some features –
I see there is an earlier version of casper listed. How can I get the earlier version (that worked ok on my site) onto my site?
Thank you
