    Dear Evan,

I love the plugin so far, and want to buy it, though I have a question regarding the index page, meaning the page that you get when you just have /announcements/ in your url.
When entered it seems to take the index.php template file from my theme and shows all the announcements as posts.

I would like to be able to change the template file, and not having to change my original index.php. Would it be possible to create a template directory in my themes folder that would allow timeline express to get the index.php template from there?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi tjerkrintjema,

Indeed it would be possible, and would most likely require you to create a single .php file inside of your theme root. I can do some testing and see what would need to be done to define your own template file, and will report back here with details.

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Hi Evan,

That’s great. I’m really curious. I bought the plugin in the mean while.

I also would love it if you could take a look at another question i posted about the alignment of the timeline.

I’m quite seasoned in php, so if it requires any code modifications I can handle it. Just need to be put on the right direction :).

    Thanks!

    Hi Tjerk,

Thanks so much for your support and in purchasing the pro version. I really appreciate your translations as well!

In regards to the custom archive template – You should be able to define a custom archive template for the custom post type bundled with this plugin.

If you create a .php file in your theme root, with the name archive-te_announcements.php, that file should then be loaded instead of the one currently being used.

Let me know if that works on your end!

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Hi Evan,

No problem. Good work needs to be supported! The plugin looks really nice and blends well with themes!

And thank you for your suggestion on the archive template. Works like a charm!

I just have one thing that’s important to me, and that is the alignment of the timeline. That’s a question I posted in another topic. This one can be closed I think.

    Thanks again,

    Tjerk

No problem. I’m glad that was working for you. I will have a look into the other issue, and report back in that thread with some additional findings.

    Thanks,
    Evan
