Changing index.php to default.php
-
I’m in the process of creating a site that conforms to a larger web template and the folks I’m creating the site for wanted a nice, easy-to-use, CMS type set-up which will enable them to easily update their main page. Naturally I thought WordPress.
My problem however is that the template pulls in it’s content through a default.php file; while wordpress publishes with index.php. Is there any way I can change settings (or perhaps code?) to have WordPress change it’s default index file to default rather than index?
I can’t simply recreate the template in wordpress because of the way the site-wide template works – WordPress would be PERFECT if it could publish the filenames I need; is it possible to tame it some?
