• I created my web site using a temp address (http://66.147.244.169/~liftbrid/) and so this is the address that appears in the browser status bar and in the browser address bar for all the pages. I now have a permanent domain (http://liftbridgefinancial.com) but all the individual pages still contain the temp address. I have tried changing the Home and Site URL settings to the new address but then I can’t get back into the WordPress admin pages (I had to edit the database to undo this change).

    Here is the URL: http://liftbridgefinancial.com

Do I need to do a find and replace to change the address in the MySQL database? I have installed the Velvet Blues Update URLs plugin, but am not sure I need to do this.

I tried doing this by changing the entries in the WordPress General Settings page. I also tried using the wp-config.php method, but both changes still lock me out.

Ok, now it works! However, if I click on an internal link, I get this error message

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Any ideas on what I still need to do?

Try checking your site’s error logs for a more specific error message. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site’s error logs.

I will try to find where WP or the hosting server puts them. However, the error is being caused by making the changes to the wp-config.php file. If I undo these changes, everything works again. So the problem still remains that all pages (or the links to them?) are pointing to a non-existent address. How do I fix this?
