Changing Login Message on screen

My goal is to have a user come to a page that has secure content and ask them to login. Your current onscreen message says things about login or register and i want to remove register. I also have a problem wiht the login link goes to the login page and then comnes back to the page of content, but the page seems to have to be refreshed to bring the content up.

I can’t figure this out. I really wish the documentation walked you through this.

It doesn’t look like you’re using wp’s login/registration forms on that site, it’s not even WP itself that’s powering those pages.

If your locked page’s content is not visible after being redirected and logged in, there could be 2 issues that I could think of:

1) Are you using any caching plugin? If so, you’d might need to exclude those pages from the cache.

2) Whatever system you’re using to create your login and signup forms, aren’t setting up the required cookies in WP. Unfortunately I can’t provide any help in this case.

It’s high unlikely the issue is within WPUM.

Regarding the message, unfortunately at the moment there isn’t a filter for it. If you wish to customize it, you’d need to edit the template file messages/general-warning.php https://github.com/WPUserManager/wp-user-manager/blob/master/templates/messages/general-warning.php

Because there’s no straightforward way to detect from which context the message is coming from, you could either detect the page https://developer.ww.wp.xz.cn/reference/functions/is_page/ or check if the $data->message variable contains the text you wish to hide with something like this https://stackoverflow.com/questions/15305278/php-how-to-check-if-a-string-contain-any-text/15305313

Alessandro,

I had accidentally turned off the WPUM plugin to try a different plugin. I have checked throughout the site and still getting the same problem. I added a cache program because i didnt have one and told it not to cache a couple of the pages so i could test if that would fix it, but it didnt.

If you go to: https://ihrim.org/wsr-home/archives/wsr-january-2018/ then you will see the login because i have marked the content of the page as members only. I have a username testing_testing and password welcome123. If you try it, the first time you go in, it will likely work but the second time it will just keep landing on the login form. Can you please give me any recommendations on what would cause this?
