Changing permalinks for custom post type

I am working on a fitness site and wanted to allow the coaches on a site to keep a diary of their daily exercise and nutrition. I have the custom post type taken care of and am moving on to pulling the entries into the various areas where I want to display them. However, the URLs of the custom posts bother me. They end up as domain.com/fitnessdiaries/%title%. I’d like them to be domain.com/fitnessdiaries/%author%/%title%. Is there any way to do that?
