Changing sidebar width?

    I couldn’t figure out how to do it concisely in a child theme but I was able to change the width of the sidebar by changing span8 to span9 in page.php, single.php and category.php. I also changed span4 to span3 in sidebar.php.

    Keeps it responsive as well.

    if someone knows a more elegant way to set this up in a child theme I am all ears.
