I would like my text to sit above a background that is NOT white. Should I not be able to Customize Your Site>Colors>Background Color>Select Color and change it? If so then it doesn’t work for me. My ultimate goal is to have the text sitting above a background image (requiring a transparent background?) but thought maybe I should explore this first. Help for a newbie please. Thanks.

Just noticed that after changing the background color as above, save changes, go back to edit page nothing has changed. Going back to Background Color>Select Color, it is white again.

Okay, didn’t know enough before to ask questions so trying again. I would like to convert our site from FrontPage to WordPress. We would like to keep the overall general appearance. We’re at: I’ve converted the Home page without any trouble but cannot get the text background transparent. Any suggestions first of all as to what theme to consider?
