changing text strings (perhaps using localization feature)

I would like to change “Tickets” for “Volunteer Spots” so that the plugin fits better my intended application.

What is the best way to achieve this without hacking the strings in the core of the code?

I was able to create a en_US lang file and change some strings w/ PoEdit…but in the front-end, where you view the Event, I can’t seem to be able to edit some of the strings.

here’s one example where I could not find the string “Bookings” -> http://screencast.com/t/A2R74Duz7g didn’t find in the lang files nor in the templates.

what’s the best approach to do this?
