changing urls ?

    go to your WordPress folder and copy all data to your public html folder.

    in your database you need to change the link from http://www.lighthouserestaurantanddockbar.com/wordpress/

    to
    http://www.lighthouserestaurantanddockbar.com/

    and also change the path

    remove the /wordpress/ from the path

    you can use this plugin for export your database and change the link and as well as the path remove the /wordpress.

    and export your database then go to your databse and import it.

    by installing this plugin you can fint out its under tools migrate db

    Whats odd is under my /wordpress folder there isnt a .htaccess

    there is one in the public_html folder but not the /wordpress

    Any suggestions ?

    Do you suggest changing the paths before I export it ?

    or do I do it afterwords ? I am not sure its confusing to me but ha im a newb at wordpress….

    You will not have an .htaccess file unless you are using non-default permalinks. Also ensure that your FTP client is configured to show all files. Most clients hide this file by default.

    you are right its configured correctly because I see the .ftpquota as well…

    Should be good to go….

    correct i only have a .htaccess in the root director already…..

    I guess which is the best way to go your way or the other guys way ?

    I want to get this done asap so the site can be up…

    have you copy all folders and file inside in your wordpress folder to your root folder?

    Did you remember to copy (not move) the index.php and .htaccess files to root?

    well i am a idiot no i really am

    i did ‘wordpress/wp-blog-header.php

    should have been ‘wordpress/wp

    its working now 🙂 thanks ugys !!!!!
