Hey, so I want to change the SPECIFIC things that authors can do, mainly I want them to be able to edit their posts, but have to submit them to me for review before they can be posted, and i dont want them to be able to delete other posts. How can I do this? I think I’ve done it before

i checked it out, and it’s not what im looking for.
Say i want to adjust what a user can do. I want them to be able to post as a collaborator, but they have some of the functions of an author…but NOT all of the functions as an author

So amend the default role capabilities or create some new roles and add the appropriate capabilities.

how do i get to where i can ammend those default roles? its not in users, or writing or settings…

You have to amend them using PHP – either via a plugin or via a theme’s functions.php file.
