It sounds like the page still exists, but in your page trash of your admin. Go to pages and filter for the trash, then empty or restore the page.
Were you able to solve this one?
Actually, working on it right now.
No, it’s not working. I put blog and blog-2 in the search and only blog comes up.
This one won’t be theme related, but it sounds like the original “blog” page still exists somewhere. Just to recap, you created a page and named it “Blog” but then deleted it…and it’s totally gone from the site? With the current “blog” page you have (the second one you made), is the page slug blog or blog-2 ?
Also make sure your menu link label is “blog”.
Also, what do you have set as your permalinks?
Permalink: http://thebeautyofconversation.com/blog-2/
what is the page slug blog?
menu link is “blog”
Try creating a new page, name it something different, then delete the existing blog page (make sure it’s also gone from the trash as well. Then rename the new blog page “blog”. See if that works.
It just created blog-3…I tried it several times. Kept incrementing. Just to be sure…..you say make sure it’s gone from the trash. All my pages shows in the list of pages so searching using the search textbox does not show any other pages.
Thanks for all your help….this is frustrating.
Good news…I looked again and saw the trash link at the top so it was stupid user error. Thanks for your patience. I really appreciate your time. I have another question, but will put in a new post and close this one. I’m building a pretty basic site, but just want to get the basics down.
Thanks again.
To check the trash, this tutorial might help:
