Changing window size – responsive menu

When reducing the window size from normal to the breakpoint which collapses the menu on the left, if you expand the menu, and reduce the window size further to the next mobile breakpoint with the bigger menu items, the menu never receives the proper treatment.

It looks like the admin menu gets the proper mobile treatment only if the previous breakpoint had the menu collapsed still.
