Those are inpage links. They do not filter by character… yet, maybe later this summer. So, unless you have last names that begin with the character clicked, it will not do anything.

In the past only the letters representing active entries showed up. Now all the letters show up. Are you saying this is a “new” function of CMap and Connections? If that is the case, the alpha index is useless.

And why is this useless? Seems like it would be well received (at least more than one member asked why it’s not working and I don’t have an answer for them).
Before the alpha index only displayed letters that represented entries. Now the complete alphabet is shown and there is no way to distinguish which letters are “worth” using to filter the results. So in reality the function is not new, just a kind word for “broken”.
I look forward to the completed fix as I think that would make it so much more functional.

I can confirm that this will be completed in the 0.7.9 release of Connections slated to be released in the next few weeks / month. This will definitely make the character index far more functional and more useful for your sites visitors.
