• I would like help with a problem.
First and foremost, the Compare plugin is one of the best I’ve found, that’s why I would like to use it for this apapplication.
But I was asked to insert a product comparator on the site where I need it add information that is present in the HTML of the page of each product to be compared, to solve this problem, I decided to put the texts as attributes and inserting them in the product, unchecking the “Visible on the product page” checkbox so that it appears only in the comparator, but there is a character limitation in attribute names.
Thinking about it, is there any way for the comparator to pull information from another database outside the attributes?
If no, it would be possible for me to choose to show data present in the description of the attribute, because, the data shown in the comparator is only the name of the attribute and there is a limit of characters, but in the description of the attribute there is no limitation.

  • Hello @douglasng98

Thank you very much for reaching out to us.

We have read your message thoroughly. Unfortunately, at this moment there is no option available in our plugin to pull information from a database and display it on another.

And there is no option based on attributes as well.

    Thank you!

I understand that there are currently no options available to deal with my problem, but I am hopeful that one day in some update there will be a function that will allow me to solve my problem.

    I would also like to suggest other modifications that may help to make your plugin much more complete than it already is in future updates;

    Implementation suggestions:
    • Show maximum limit message as soon as the user clicks the button after having already selected the limit quantity of products (can be displayed in an alert message), and prevent the user from changing the button to “Added button” when the limit has been reached .
    • Give the option to remove the product from the comparator when clicking on the “Added button” instead of taking it directly to the comparator page or opening the pop-up, thus being able to have a specific button to perform this function on the store page, allowing the user to change his mind about comparing the product he has already added in the comparator before seeing the table.
    • Insert the Button to return the store visible on the comparator (above the table or next to the product images) to avoid the user having to click to delete each product before going to the store page.

These are just some of the limitations I found, so I leave these suggestions at your disposal to carry out these updates if you find them feasible.

    Hello @douglasng98

    Thanks for understanding 🙂

Your valuable suggestions are highly appreciated. I will discuss this with the development team and see what we can do about it.

    Best regards,
    Tarek
