Characters Breaking Content – what is causing this?

    When adding content into a site i am working on, it seems some characters will break it causing the content to cut off and stop at that character. One such character I’ve confirmed is ‘-‘ as well as an apostrophe and a ‘£’ sign.

    Does anyone know what could be causing this? I’ve spoken with my host who say that it is not a problem at my end. It happens both when publishing via WP and also if i try to change the rows via PHPMyAdmin.

    Did you try switching to the default 2012 theme and disabling all plugins?

    I didn’t try that – it seems that for some reason (it might have been a plugin i was using) had changed the character encoding away from UTF-8…putting that back has now fixed it.
