    Limit machine translation / characters per day

    Hi everyone,

    I’m setting up TranslatePress with Google Cloud Translation API and ran into a limitation I can’t seem to resolve.

    Even with the API properly configured (API key working, returning 200 OK, billing active on Google Cloud), the plugin keeps enforcing a limit of 5000 characters per day on automatic translation.

    Whenever I try to change or remove this limit in the settings, it simply reverts back to 5000.

    From what I can tell:

    • Google Cloud billing is active
    • Cloud Translation API is enabled
    • API key is correctly restricted and working
    • Translations do work, but stop at the 5000 character threshold

    So my questions are:

    1. Is this limit imposed by TranslatePress (free version or trial)?
    2. Is there any way to remove or increase it without upgrading to Pro?
    3. Or is there something in the configuration I might be missing?

    Any clarification would be really appreciated — I just want to understand whether this is a hard limitation or a setup issue.

    Hi,

    This issue appears to be caused by a conflict with the W3 plugin. On the other hand, it’s not a good reflection for a product that aims to sell licenses to leave a support thread unresolved in a forum that is supposed to provide assistance.

    I will likely look for an alternative plugin, given the lack of support experienced.

    I’ll close the post now.

    I also wanted to confirm that TranslatePress does not impose any character limit when using Google Translate in its free version.
