Check email before POST request not working

Hi, Cleantalk doesn’t appear to be catching false emails on my subscribe form (using FluentForms).
The way I understand it is if an email is not valid (mx record check?) the form does not complete submission.
However, in this case the form submits and my CRM attempts to deliver an email to a non-address, which isn’t good.Any tips?
