I have found out that the widget has a multi select field, that is very useful and I can use it like checkboxes.
But when I check one item in the list then a little x appears over the item.
That looks a little bit uncool.
How can I change it?

to solve this issue go in YITH Plugings > Ajax Product Filter > Custom Style and add this css rule:
.woocommerce-page .widget_layered_nav .yith-wcan-select-wrapper ul li.chosen a {
background: transparent !important;
}
