    Hey guys,

I am struggling to find a problem that has been bothering me for the last couple of days.

The website https://danishgranolacompany.de has exactly the same set up as https://danishgranolacompany.se. However, the checkout for the German one does not work.

The problem is not caused by the theme (tested), neither from any customizations of the code (tested). It works when I disable https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/webshipper-automated-shipping/. Their support says the following:

“Everything looks ok from our end, and the error comes from you. We get a rate_quotes call fine seems like they have some errors on their shop they need to look into:
The error “JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data” could be an issue.”

I am getting weird errors in the console:

    PixelYourSite PRO version 9.5.5
http://www.googleoptimize.com/optimize.js?id=OPT-WGFNQRM:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ()
jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=3.4.0:2 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 3.4.0
http://www.danishgranolacompany.de/:1 Uncaught (in promise) SyntaxError: Unexpected token ‘<‘, “

    “… is not valid JSON
    at JSON.parse ()
    at checkout.min.js?ver=7.6.0:1:426
http://www.danishgranolacompany.de/:1 Uncaught (in promise) SyntaxError: Unexpected token ‘<‘, “

    “… is not valid JSON

    at checkout.min.js?ver=7.6.0:1:426

    “… is not valid JSON
    at JSON.parse ()
    at checkout.min.js?ver=7.6.0:1:426

Any ideas will be much appreciated.

  • Hi @viktorradin

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you are unable to place an order on this site and disabling the third-party plugin Webshipper – Automated Shipping resolved your issue here, correct?

Checking your site’s checkout page, I can verify the console errors mentioned above.

For us to investigate this further, can you please try to switch to the default Storefront theme and only WooCommerce plugin is enabled, create a test order using Cash on Delivery and see if this works?

If so, then this kind of problem is usually caused by your theme or a third-party plugin present on your site. We can run a conflict test to verify this. I’d recommend cloning your site to a staging environment and performing the tests described on this guide without modifying your live site or impacting customers. Many hosts provide staging facilities, so it’s worth checking in with them. It’s also possible to do it using the free WP Staging plugin.

If this was caused by a third-party plugin present on your site, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

If this did not resolve the issue, please share your System Status Report, that will help us further troubleshoot.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it into your reply here.

If you could also provide the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.

You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

Let us know how it goes!

    Hi @viktorradin

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to go ahead and mark this thread as resolved. If you have any other questions please start a new thread.

    Thanks!
