Checkout issue
-
I can’t really provide a link, as the site is not really live yet.
Aside from wanting to have the pending payment email notifications go out right away to BOTH the admin and the customer – see previous ticket), we have identified another issue.
I’m not sure if we are doing this right or not, bu we created a product in woocommerce and attached a One Euro value to it. We configured your plugin as a payment option. This works well, as the site visitor can choose the payment type (in our case either bitcoin or etherium) and after checking out they are presented with an “order received” page which contains the address to which they need to pay. They can copy this address and go to a payment processor like blockchain.info to make their payment. Then they choose to send to the address and then they can choose how much they want to send and their choice of bitcoin, ether or bitcoin cash.
This is where things can get messy. Suppose the site visitor decided to buy a different amount of product when reaching the payment processor. Ie, spend 5 euros instead of the one they chose in the shopping cart. Or they may decide to pay with another coin than they selected in the shopping cart (ie: ether instead of bitcoin).
So, what happens then is this. The site owner will get a notice from Woocoomerce that a customer has purchased 1 euros worth of product, but they will get a notice from the coin processor that someone purchased 5 euros worth.
I hope I explained the issue clearly. The cryptocurrency is all new to me and I am not sure how this all works yet. It seems it would be good if the information in the shopping cart was passed onto the payment processor somehow and that it couldn’t be changed once they leave the site.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Or advice on how to handle this.
