How can I change those names to German?

Our amazing community handles WooCommerce translation, as you might be aware. However, not every language is 100% translated, which means some parts of the website may still appear in English.
With that said, you can use plugins like Loco Translate to translate your website easily. Please note that this is a third-party plugin, so we aren’t able to provide support for it. If you need help with the plugin, you can reach out to their support here.

Am I correct in saying that Woo allows me to change some of the field names through the WP/Astra customiser under WooCommerce and whatever I do not find there needs to be done through a plugin?
If that is the case may I ask what is the best/most reliable language plugin to use for an Astra-WooCommerce website (needed languages: German and English)?

WooCommerce does allow you to change some field names through the WP/Astra customizer. However, not all WooCommerce fields can be modified this way.
For fields not available in the customizer, you may need to use additional plugins like Loco Translate or custom code. You can read more details on translating Astra theme here.
