• Hi, I’ve tried without fail on two of my themes I bought from themeforest – to do a child theme.

    Basically, i followed the “very easy to do” claims of the 5 lines in style.css for the child theme.

    Without fail, they are both broken on both occasions.

    The error says:
    Warning: require_once(/home/photocre/public_html/sghomeonline.com/wp-content/themes/openhouse2/admin/admin-functions.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/photocre/public_html/sghomeonline.com/wp-content/themes/openhouse/functions.php on line 32

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/photocre/public_html/sghomeonline.com/wp-content/themes/openhouse2/admin/admin-functions.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/photocre/public_html/sghomeonline.com/wp-content/themes/openhouse/functions.php on line 32

    What happens was I got locked up and couldn’t revert the themes to default. Scary for a bit after putting up some work setting up the theme to work. Thankfully, I managed to find a solution, which is to rename the theme folder – phew.

    Any thoughts on how to create a child theme in that instance?
    All i wanted to do is to create a custom “create new post” and the web has way to many information on it, so I’m afraid to touch the parent theme functions.php at all =]
