Child Theme functions.php Getting Wiped Out

Hello,

In the past week, there have been two instances that my Child Theme’s functions.php were completely cleared out. I am using http://www.wordpress.com for an account and am not sure if there is a particular plug-in that would cause this to happen? I have left the code at the times as a perfectly functioning code, so I don’t see what would be clearing it out. This would essentially defeat the purpose of having a child theme since the functions would have to be re-typed periodically.
